What is Freeze-dried food?
Freeze-dried food has several advantages over canned, dehydrated or frozen food. Designed, originally, for NASA and the U.S. Military, frozen foods, canned foods and dehydrated foods either lose shelf life or flavor at some point in time. What is the Freeze Dried Process?
We are absolutely convinced that freeze-dried food storage is the best!
We use the latest technology to serve you fresh and nutritional meals.
1. The chef prepares the food, fresh or cooked, then it is flash frozen and put in a vacuum chamber.
2. The food is frozen at temperatures as low as -50 below zero so the moisture is drawn off while evaporating the ice.
3. After the Freeze Dry process is complete, the food is placed in specially made containers and sealed to protect against moisture and oxygen. This provides the guaranteed shelf life and it keeps the food fresh and wholesome until you are ready to eat it. No other process comes close!
4. Your freeze-dried, gourmet food storage tastes just like it was freshly made that day! Simply add water for the same taste, texture and smell, just as the Chef intended!
Food Storage Chef utilizes two different types of packaging for your gourmet food storage. First, for short-term supplies your gourmet food comes in professional grade mylar pouches, making them very portable and easy to store. These Mylar pouches hold a 10-15 year shelf life. All long-term plans come in #10 cans and maintain a 30 year shelf life. Your gourmet, freeze dried food is made fresh at the time of order made in the state of Utah.
Freeze-dried is easy to prepare- giving you the ability to just add water and reconstitute your gourmet food. Food Storage Chef freeze dried food is gourmet quality and maintains its nutritional value the longevity of its 30 year shelf life.
In addition, remember that all of our food is all-natural, very low in sodium, contains little to no preservatives, MSG, or Trans-fats!
